GUIDELINES FOR HAIRSTYLING ON YOUR WEDDING AMIDST COVID-19

GUIDELINES FOR HAIRSTYLING ON YOUR WEDDING AMIDST COVID-19

A wedding will kick-off two people’s lives as a married couple. A once-in-a-lifetime event, it must be memorable. Indeed, anyone would want a picture-perfect event that would produce timeless photographs of you and your guests. Hence, it requires thorough planning. However, with the adverse, recent events happening around us, every step we take poses a challenge.

The Coronavirus Pandemic 2019 (COVID-19), without a doubt, has turned the course of our lives upside down. The physical distancing measures have changed how we interact with one another. However, this should not keep us from pursuing the much-awaited special events such as weddings. Plus, we owe it to ourselves to make a wonderful day as naturally as we would do; while taking necessary precautions, of course. With COVID-19 around or not, brides and bridesmaids deserve pampering and extra attention on their special day!

The beauty business, built on person-to-person physical contact, is not new to personal hygiene measures. Preventing the possible implications of the invisible enemy, here at Eva Hair and Makeup, among other outstanding professional hairstylists such as Simona Janek, are adapting and taking necessary precautions to ensure clients’ health and safety. However, this would not be possible with hairstylists’ effort alone. Hence, we must expect greater responsibility and exercise reciprocal action among all parties involved.

The following are safety measures that hairstylists and clients alike must employ to make each other feel safe in the face of COVID-19:

Be Transparent with Your Health

Expect that before serving each client, your hairstylist will ensure that you are healthy. Doing so is not only for their own good but for other clients who will be exposed to them as well. Examples of questions will be asked of you are:

Do you have a pre-existing medical condition (e.g., heart disease, respiratory illness, or diabetes) that makes you at risk for COVID-19?
Have you traveled to any of the countries (e.g., the U.S.A, Brazil, India, and China) positively affected by COVID-19 in the last two weeks?
Have you experienced flu-like symptoms in the past two weeks?
Have you been exposed to a person exhibiting flu-like symptoms in the past two weeks?
Moreover, anticipate that the professional will provide you their end as well. To build trust, it is important to answer truthfully and to be as specific as possible.

Cover Up

Everyone is expected to wear personal protective gear such as a face mask or face shield around others to avoid bodily fluid exposure. Additionally, businesses are strict in maintaining a “No Mask, No Service” policy, too. Whether the service will be held in the stylist’s studio, the wedding venue, or the comforts of your own home, abiding is necessary. Expect that your hairstylist will wear a face mask/shield and a pair of hand gloves as well as change these between every client.

Sanitize and Maintain Cleanliness

Expect that your hairstylist will provide a hand sanitizer or alcohol, which you need to apply upon entering the room. Be confident that they are thoroughly keeping the area clean and the tools sanitized for each client. You would want a clean seat as well as comb, brushes, and rollers for you, right? Cooperate as it takes more or less twenty minutes to completely clean and disinfect everything, which brings us to our next point.

Be Patient

Everyone must keep physical distance from each other. Now, bookings are necessarily done online and must be made earlier than the usual “in advance.” Before, hairstylists juggle as they take advantage of the opportunity to work on multiple clients at once. Unfortunately, gone are those days of double-dipping. Hence, there will be a limit to the number of persons in the preparation area. Expect that the number of customers in the room is kept to a minimum. If possible, there will be only one client per one or two stylists at a time. While you have your hairstylist’s undivided attention, expect longer intervals between clients despite the latter’s efforts to work quickly.

Indeed, luxury these days entails sacrifice. Remember, having your hair styled for a big event is an experience in itself. If you are looking for a passionate hairstylist whose fingers make a work of art and will make you feel like these troubles are nothing at all, it is never too early to book in your special appointment with us. At these trying times, the friendliness that comes with our professionalism is a breath of fresh air–bridging the gap between the old and the new normal.
